We have found, over the years, that a varied diet is extremely important. This can be best demonstrated by the physical look and posture of the birds. Birds that have static diets of only one source of food tend to look distinctly unhealthy. In the wild these birds have access to a more than one source, so it follows that we should try and duplicate this larder for them.

We make a great deal of effort to feed the birds in our care with monthly trips to inverness to pick up bulk day old chicks, (at £240) also trips to Granton to pick up rabbits,(50p each 100 at a time) pheasants, hares and deer(£35 each) all food is brought to the premises already culled -- we NEVER kill anything nor do we feed the birds any live food. we top up nutrients using vitamins specially made for birds of prey.

We also use latex gloves to protect ourselves from infection and disease from handling raw meat, and use bacterail gel.
